Record Conference Calls

Conference call

Conference calls, also known as teleconferences are a great way to talk to multiple people at the same time. Conference calls could be very useful in some situations; you can talk to many people at the same time around the country or around the globe to share your ideas.

Conference calls primarily have two different purposes; one is to serve as a communication tool and the other is to serve as an archival method to record important points of a meeting. Many companies and organizations record their conference calls for the following purposes.

  • To take minutes of client meetings
  • Broadcasting recorded interviews or podcasting
  • Reference for research purposes
  • For legal purposes and references
  • Investors meeting
  • Earning reports

Not only organizations, but individuals may also record conference calls because they could be useful in many situations. In this article, we are going to discuss some useful techniques you can use to record your conference calls.

1. Record conference calls with microphone

This is one of the most basic and easiest ways to record conference calls. Before you learn How to record conference calls, you must know how many people will be in that conference call and whom you are going to record because recording a conference call is not about recording entire conversation but recording an individual most of the time. Regardless of whether you want to record entire conversation or a particular person, put your landline phone or mobile phone on speaker and put it near a recording device. Either you can get a portable multimedia recording device or you can simply record that conversation on your desktop PC or laptop. Later you can use some audio editing tool to edit that phone conversation; Jet Audio Trimmer and Audacity are some great tools for this purpose.

2. Using an In-ear microphone

In-ear microphone is a great device to record conference calls as well as one to one calls. In-ear microphones are tiny earplugs you can plug in your receiving ear and then listen to your conference calls like normal calls. Those small gadgets pick every sound from your phone’s speaker. Most of the in-ear microphones come with multimedia recorder. You can get in-ear microphone online or from nearby electronics store.

If you couldn’t find an in-ear microphone with recording device then you can also attach that to an external multimedia recording device or with your laptop to record the entire conversation.

3. Record conference calls on VoIP

Many VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) software and apps allow you to make calls to multiple people at the same time. Some of those software and apps call this feature “conference call” while some software call it “group call” but it is the same thing, so don’t be confused. Skype is a well known VoIP service that allows you to make calls to many people at the same time. All you need is call recording software like Windows built-in call recorder or Audacity on your laptop or desktop PC to record those conversations.
